  • Does this tool work for Office 365?
    Yes, it works for Office 365, but only the desktop version.
  • Does this tool work for Mac?
    Yes, autoIMAGE now work in macOS for Office 365 & Excel 2019.
  • Does this tool work for Open Office or Google Sheets?
    No, this tool was designed for Excel only.
  • Can multiple users use the same product license?
    No, the license is per user/per computer. Each user requires a separate license.
  • Will the license expire?
    No, this is a perpetual license, meaning you own it for life.
  • Will I get access to support?
    Yes, our support team responds to queries within 24 hours.
  • Do I get access to future updates?
    Yes, you will be notified of updates and can install the latest version when available.
  • Is this a stable version?
    Yes, this version has been tested extensively in various environments prior to release.
  • Do I need internet access to use the app?
    No, the app only requires internet access for initial license authentication.

  • Can this tool work with remote files?
    No, but you may use OneDrive to save a copy of your images locally.

    • To ensure you have a local copy of OneDrive files, right-click the file or folder in File Explorer within your OneDrive folder and select “Always keep on this device”. This will download the file(s) to your computer and make them available even when offline
  • The app was working fine but has disappeared. What should I do?
    This could happen due to:

    • A conflicting add-in installation.
    • Excel crashing and restarting without enabling the add-in.
      To fix it:
    1. Go to Excel > Options > Add-ins.
    2. Click Go under Manage Add-ins.
    3. Uncheck the autoIMaGe.xlam add-in, then recheck it to reload.
  • How can I ensure the add-in doesn’t disappear again?
    Add the add-in’s folder to Trusted Locations in Excel:

    1. Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations.
    2. Add the folder containing the add-in.

  • The app is taking too long to insert images. What can I do?
    • Keep images under 100KB for optimal performance.
    • Use the “Stop at Empty Cells” setting (found under the Settings tab) if you only have a few images to load.
  • The images are being inserted too small.
    You can adjust the image size under the Settings tab.

  • Can I add more than two folders as image sources?
    The app supports a maximum of two folders. However, you can combine images from multiple categories or products into a single folder for easier management.
  • I need to rename my images. How can I do it?
    Use third-party tools like Microsoft PowerToys to batch rename images. Check out our tutorial under the Tips page for guidance.
  • I need to resize my images but don’t know how.
    You can resize images using third-party tools like Microsoft PowerToys. See our tutorial under the Tips page for step-by-step instructions.

  • The images are not displaying.
    • Ensure Excel cell values match image filenames exactly.
    • Verify the file extension includes the period (e.g., .JPG, .PNG).
    • Confirm the images are in supported formats: JPG, PNG, or JPEG.
    • Ensure images are under 300×300 pixels, as larger files may cause issues.
  • The app was working fine, but now it’s gone.
    This can happen if Excel crashes or another add-in conflicts. Follow these steps to reload the add-in:

    1. Go to Excel Options > Add-ins.
    2. Click Go under Manage Add-ins.
    3. Uncheck autoIMaGe.xlam, then recheck it to reload.
